Sustainable, hygienic, and economical large-volume solutions with thermoforming heights of up to 1,200 mm

Whether fish or meat – thermoformed containers ensure every cold chain is maintained

Sustainable alternative to glass fiber reinforced plastic

Freshness, safety, and sustainability are key factors in food logistics. At the same time, demands on the cold chain are increasing, while costs must be reduced. BURG Thermoforming offers a future-proof solution for this: thermoformed thermal containers combine precision, hygiene, and resource efficiency in one system.

Unlike GRP products, the containers are made of fully recyclable thermoplastics such as ABS, PE, PP, or PET composites. They contain neither glass fibers nor resins—a plus for the environment, recycling, and occupational safety. Optimized wall thicknesses and the targeted use of recycled materials reduce material consumption without compromising stability or functionality.

Material expertise for every temperature zone

Whether frozen food or fresh produce, BURG develops thermal containers that can safely withstand external temperatures ranging from –40°C to +75°C.

The specially developed material Kro_PET_frost (MAPEG) combines high impact resistance, excellent chemical resistance, and food safety. This ensures that sensitive foods remain reliably protected during transport and storage—from the production line to the refrigerated shelf.

This innovative material meets the demanding hygiene standards of leading food manufacturers and logistics service providers. Its durability and dimensional stability ensure minimal failure rates and a long service life.

Thermoforming technology for large applications

Size meets precision

Using specially modified GEISS systems, BURG achieves thermoforming heights of up to 1,200 mm and molded surfaces of up to 3,500 × 2,300 mm. This results in containers that are precisely tailored to the requirements of industrial food logistics—whether reusable systems, special containers, or partially insulated transport solutions.

An almost uniform wall thickness distribution ensures that the temperature remains constant throughout the container. This is crucial for a stable cold chain from production to delivery.

Efficient manufacturing with a better carbon footprint

Thermoforming is impressive not only from a technical standpoint, but also from an ecological one

The production process is energy-efficient, requires less material than GRP processes, and causes significantly lower emissions. Since no post-processing such as grinding or drilling is necessary, production times are reduced and tooling costs remain low. This allows for flexible adjustments—ideal for individual customer requirements, from small series to large orders.

Practical example: Thermal container for food logistics

BURG sets standards in refrigerated transport with its large-volume thermo containers made from Kro_PET_frost. Dimensions: 2,040 × 900 × 1,040 mm, thermoforming height: 1,200 mm – maximum loading capacity with optimum insulation. The containers guarantee safe transport between production, distribution centers, and retail outlets – even with daily cleaning cycles and demanding temperature zones.

Future-proof solution for food logistics

Thermoformed containers from BURG combine sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and technical performance. They are robust, hygienic, and recyclable—the ideal solution for companies that want to combine responsibility and efficiency.

Thermoforming is not just technology—it is the basis for sustainable transport solutions for the food industry.
